Delivery

Used to be so much better

I used Goon Grease years ago during my pompadour obsession phase and found it excellent, both as a high hold pomade and also as a high quality product. I decided to try it out again on a new look and was sorely disappointed.

First off the smell is awful. It used to have a lovely spicy citrus scent that smelt quite natural. Now it has a very sickly cheap smelling weird cucumber like scent that I hate.

It also feels different to what I remember. More translucent, less gloopy and more waxy. My hair doesn't like it at all and whereas before I could use for a good few days now I feel like I have to wash it out after a day. My hair feels immediately greasy but not in a good way, in a heavy way.

Generally it feels like the quality has gone down a lot since I used this a few years back and to be honest it's probably going either in the bin or I'll try and give it away. It could also be to how my hair has changed as I've gotten older but this doesn't explain the general issues with the product.

Great hold and shine without any stiffness. Being oil-based, it's a little difficult to wash out. I found putting conditioner on your hair, whilst it is still dry, rinsing and then shampooing, removed the product with ease.
